To understand how autoreactive B cells become activated in lupus
To describe how B cells can contribute to pathogenesis in systemic autoimmune diseases
To differentiate the relative roles of B cells and dendritic cells in the mechanisms of pathogenesis
To understand how toll-like receptors play essential roles in initiation of autoimmunity.
