Description

Our research focuses on regulation of meiotic prophase I progression in mammals. In general, we are interested in understanding how different organisms regulate the events of prophase I that define meiosis, whether and to what extent mammalian meiosis differs from other simpler organisms, and whether differences exist between sexes. We focus primarily on the molecular regulation of crossing over, driven primarily by members of the DNA mismatch repair family, and by other DNA damage repair pathways.
