Description

At the end of the lecture, the audience should be able to:

1. Describe how hepatic mitochondrial dysfunction may contribute to hyperglycemia in obese, type 2 diabetic patients.

2. Explain how mitochondrial homeostasis is maintained by the mitophagy pathway.

3. Understand how overnutrition may contribute to loss of mitochondrial quality control by mitophagy in liver.
