Description

Intent and Overview: The purpose of the Murray Sachs, MD Lectureship is to recognize the lifetime accomplishments of this remarkable physician and role model, and to perpetuate his high standards of patient care and continuing education.

Lecture Summary: While COPD is the 3rd leading cause of death in the US, it has been relatively neglected as a focus of research and administrative priorities. New developments in pharmaceutical and device intervention, as well as a focus by CMS on COPD readmissions reductions, warrant increased awareness of this disease by general, as well as specialist practitioners.
