Description

DCIS (ductal carcinoma in situ) and LCIS (lobular carcinoma in situ) comprise a heterogeneous group of breast disease, many of which will never progress to invasive breast cancers. However, clinically they are treated aggressively because there is no reliable way to predict which will do so. I will present our current work on the development and characterization of primary in situ tissue cultures in order to better model and understand these fascinating disease.
