Description

Swallowing is a complex act. Anatomic deformity, neurologic injury and frailty can lead to dysfunction in swallowing. Dysphagia may lead to aspiration and penetration. Recognition of these relationships can enhance recognition of dysphagia in individuals. Interventions are available which are proven to reduce pneumonia. Dr. Johnson will cover these topics in his presentation.
