The Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition, a joint program between Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh, recently celebrated its 30th anniversary.

Julie Fiez, adjunct professor, School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, is the codirector of the center, which integrates Carnegie Mellon’s strengths in psychology, computer science, engineering, biological sciences and statistics with Pitt’s strengths in bioengineering, math, psychology and basic and clinical neuroscience.
