In the latest graduate school rankings released April 7, 2026, by U.S. News & World Report, the University of Pittsburgh Health Sciences schools ranked among the best in the nation across a wide spectrum of programs.

Once again, the School of Medicine retained its elite Tier 1 ranking in research along with only 15 other schools nationwide and among a total of 102 ranked in Tiers 1-4.
Four School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences programs rank in the top 10, with Occupational Therapy reclaiming its prior No. 1 ranking (up from No. 3 last year); Physical Therapy rising to No. 8 and Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology both sitting at 6th best in the nation.
In the School of Nursing, the Nursing Anesthesia program was No. 5. Doctor of Nursing Practice moved up three spots to No. 9 (tied).
The School of Pharmacy rose a spot to No. 8 from No. 9 last year.
The School of Public Health increased two spots to 14th best in the nation of 224 programs, and five public health specialties were listed in the top 20.
Pitt’s sixth school in the health sciences, the School of Dental Medicine, is not included because U.S. News does not rank dental schools.
