David C. Beck, EdD, DMSc

David C. Beck is the interim dean of the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (SHRS) and a professor in the Department of Physician Assistant (PA) Studies. He has served as the inaugural executive vice dean of SHRS, vice dean of SHRS, inaugural associate dean for interprofessional studies of SHRS, the inaugural chair of the Department of PA Studies, director of the PA Studies On-Campus and PA Studies Hybrid Programs and he is the founder of Pitt's Doctor of Medical Science program. He earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Physician Assistant Science at Saint Francis University, his Doctor of Education at the University of Pittsburgh and his Doctor of Medical Science at Shenandoah University. His research interests are in the areas of quality and process improvement in health care education and the professional development of health care practitioners.
