Congratulations to the Spring 2025 graduates in the University of Pittsburgh’s schools of the health sciences! After years of training and preparation, you are ready to take the next steps in your journeys to help shape a healthier future.
On Friday, May 2, the Schools of Pharmacy, of Public Health and of Nursing held their commencement ceremonies, followed by the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (SHRS) on May 3, which held two ceremonies.
The School of Dental Medicine held its ceremony on Saturday, May 17, and the School of Medicine’s 138th Diploma Day ceremony took place on May 18.
Here’s a look at some highlights from the events.
The School of Pharmacy had 102 students graduate with Doctor of Pharmacy degrees, 20 with master’s degrees and 11 with PhDs.
The School of Public Health celebrated 271 graduates: 24 earning PhDs, 211 master’s degrees and 36 students earning their Bachelor of Science in Public Health.
The School of Nursing honored one PhD graduate; nine Doctor of Nursing Practice graduates; six Master of Science in Nursing graduates; two certificate program graduates and 155 total undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) graduates, including three who have earned the Bachelor of Science in Nursing with Honors (BSN-H), jointly awarded through the Honors College, and seven others who graduated with a BSN jointly through the Honors College.
In its morning ceremony, SHRS conferred 120 bachelor’s degrees, 65 master’s degrees and five PhDs. There were 72 other doctorates, for a total of 262 graduates.
In the afternoon, SHRS had 125 bachelor’s degrees; 98 master’s degrees, three PhDs and 19 other doctoral degrees, for a total of 245 graduates.
The School of Dental Medicine awarded degrees to 135 graduates. There were 27 bachelor’s degrees, 84 DMDs, 21 residents receiving certificates and three students receiving master’s degrees or PhDs.
The School of Medicine conferred 140 medical degrees, 66 doctoral degrees, 77 master’s degrees and 18 certificates at its Diploma Day ceremony for the 138th graduating class.
